| By Andrew White University of Idaho journalism student * Located in Seattle, Wa. * An organization dedicated to raising awareness about militias and how citizens can speak out against them. * Motto: "If you're concerned about bias crimes, intimidation, harassment, or other attacks on civil and human rights, NWCAMH should be your first contact." * Was created in the early 1 980's in response to anti-democratic actions. * While located in Seattle, the group serves as a voice for citizens throughout the United States. * The NWCAMH publishes the Northwest Beacon, a collection of articles and information that helps alert citizens about the dangers of militias. * The organization's activity is to advocate against militias by organizing citizens and distributing of information. * The group has defined the militia as, "Organized groups of people, often at the county level, that study and train with weapons to defend themselves against.
